Train to be a RFS Volunteer

Community members (full-time and casual) who live close by and even regular visitors to our area are invited to join the Brigade.  Training, usually held during winter, consists of practical and theory (via on-line), hands-on drills and equipment use, local area familiarity day and final assessment.

Although intense, it covers all aspects of bush firefighting, property protection, first aid, equipment training, radio operation and much more. Both theory and practical including live fire exercises. Joining the Brigade also opens the door to undertake additional training activities, many nationally recognised.  Its also a great opportunity to meet members of the community and to make new friends. For further information contact us via the `Contact Us’ link on this web site (and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours) or you can register via the RFS website at: Volunteer – NSW Rural Fire Service  .  We usually meet every Wednesday night, so feel free to drop into the Fire Shed any time after 7.30pm to meet some of the members and have a chat.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Canyonleigh Rural Bush Fire Brigade.
