The 2024 Canyonleigh RFS Community Bush Fire Training event will be held on Saturday 21 September 2024 at the Canyonleigfh RFS shed, commencing at 8.30am. This award-winning program will help you to prepare for the upcoming fire season. This is a full day of learning and practical training to provide the skills and experience should you or your home face a potential bush fire. You will be assisted by qualified RFS staff to develop your own Bush Fire Survival Plan.

A full day of theory, advice and practical training including live fire activities. We will teach you to:

• Prepare your home and family
• Manage pets and livestock
• Access and prepare water resources
• Pump operation and hose use
• Extinguish spot fires with and without water

Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided. We ask attendees to wear durable clothing and sturdy footware. We also recommend attendees bring rigger or gardening gloves.
